Dress ReDesign
General Alterations
Custom and Exclusives
Whether you have a new dress or a dress from a relative, it can be transformed to be One Of A Kind! How? With Redesign! When a dress has significant structural changes, it becomes unique and exclusive to you! There are a few examples in the Before and After Section (click). My personal specialty is Redesigning your Mother's or other relative's wedding gown to fit your personal style. I can also refurbish older, heirloom gowns!
This Service includes common changes like hems, taking in the sides and so on. I do all gowns, for many occasions. These alterations are not only for Brides, but for any woman needing a formal gown. I will even meet you where you are for a small fee and have been in attendance at many weddings for last-minute adjustments! Keep in mind, when you hire a seamstress you are paying for TIME + SKILL. My pricing is very competitive and I encourage you to do cost comparisons.
At Gown Alterations by Debra B, you will find I can accommodate most of your redesign needs. The goals are to fit your gown to your figure, and to transform each dress so that no two people will have the same design. I will always be learning new skills, even though I have over 40 yrs. of sewing experience.
Exclusive: I am one of a few
(other than dry cleaners)
who offers cleaning, whitening and pressing of vintage and modern gowns.
SOME REVIEWS
"I could not have picked a better seamstress to help me alter my wedding dress. Every time I went to a fitting I asked for something completely different, but she was extremely patient with me! I started off with a dress I liked (long sleeves, full back) but by the time she finished I LOVED it (short, slightly off the shoulder sleeves, and a V back!) It was my dream wedding dress thanks to Deb! I've already referred her to many of my friends and family."

"I was impressed by Debbie from the start. I purchased a mother-of-the-bride's dress that was two sizes too big - not by mistake - but because it was the only dress I found that I liked. I knew it would need to be altered. Thank heavens for Debbie because the moment she saw it on me, she knew what needed to be done and she was 100 percent correct. My dress was a bodice type attached long dress with a matching jacket. Debbie first pulled the bodice up to fit my bust better and then took material off the sides to slim-line it. She suggested, and then added, hidden handkerchief pockets. The dress length was a bit too long, so she shortened it. She altered the jacket to have three-quarter length sleeves instead of the full length it came with. Lastly, she added a hidden snap so I could wear it open or closed. When I came to pick everything up, she had cleaned and pressed it for me and it looked absolutely beautiful. I was so very pleased with all the alterations Debbie had made and I received many compliments on the dress at the wedding. I so appreciated her hard work. An added blessing is that Debbie is a lovely, outgoing and fun person to be around."
